| Character Info Template!
Autumn made this character info table template for us, check it out! :) - Kriek 11:38, 19 October 2011 (PDT)

- Kriek 15:44, 18 October 2011 (PDT) | Unused Pictures If you have a second, take a look at the unused files page! There are a lot of old avatars and characater pictures in there that are currently not used in any pages - how about we fix that? To add an image to any page, just link the file title as usual, ie. , which looks like this: - Kriek 16:14, 11 October 2011 (PDT)

[edit] Adding Pages to the Wiki
Adding a page is simple, and you are encouraged to add pages for characters beyond just your own! There are plenty of history references to characters that don't have pages with players no longer in the game, and anyone is free to edit in information about characters, both major and minor.
WHEN CREATING A CHARACTER PAGE, use your character's first and last names and capitalize them both. Ex, "Sphinx Endore". Having this standardized will make it easier for folks to figure out how to link to your character. If your character has several last names (e.g. Arkadious Ostrega Van Fe'hlien) it is entirely up to you whether to use the full name or not. I recommend using what you think most people will consider first since they'll need to be able to link to you easily. Furthermore, if your character has multiple names (Arkadious Ostrega, Arkadious, Arkadious van Fe'hlien), you should create one main page and have other pages linked to that one using whichever name you prefer. For example, if your page is under "Arkadious Ostrega", you can have the link show as Arkadious by renaming the link. This is done by adding a single | and the text you wish to show as your link directly after your link, like this: Arkadious. You should also add to the very end of the page so it'll show up on this page.
TO ADD A PAGE, search for whatever it is you want to add to make sure nobody else has created a page about it that you can just edit. If there is no page entitled "Strawberry Fields", for example, you will be asked if you want to create it. Avoid creating multiple pages about the same topic under different titles, links to character pages should use proper wiki link formatting to make this easier. Instances of this that you find can be redirected to the actual page or flagged for deletion (if there aren't remaining links to it). From there, enter the information about the topic and save the page. Don't worry if you don't know wiki syntax completely! There are people around to help you format, and lots of help pages about it.
TO LINK TO ANOTHER PAGE WITHIN THE WIKI, use . Between the , provide the name of what you want to link to. For instance, if you're saying your character is a member of Winterheart Forest, put Winterheart Forest between the 's (with no spaces). PLEASE TRY TO DO THIS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Link to characters, to families, to territories, to packs, etc. If you want to link to a character using just their first name (e.g. Sphinx) all you have to do is: Sphinx The first part before the | is the title of the page you want to link to, the second part is the text that links. When you're reviewing your articles, check your links! If it's red, that indicates that the page does not exist. You should do a search to ensure you're linking to the correct page, or create the page yourself.
TO EDIT A PAGE TITLE, click "move". Try not to do this too much, as it will have implications for links pointing to that page - consider renaming your links instead to achieve the desire effect. If you have to rename it (for instance, if you made a mistake during creation, or you're moving an established character into another established family), either ensure first that all pages linking to it are rerouted to the new page, or consider setting up a redirect with the desired term instead.
FORMATTING, See this page for help on formatting. You can also get the basics by visiting the help page.
[edit] Editing Other Pages
If you would like to help out to maintain the wiki, please look over the following:
UPDATING CHARACTERS is something that always needs to be done. To help, simply visit the page of active characters, and skim for inaccuracies and reassign the characters to an appropriate category (being inactive characters, dead characters and adoptable characters).
REMOVING SPAM is currently a constant task. The easiest way to get rid of recent posts is to go to the recent changes, blank new spam articles, and assign them to the delete category. For taking care of older ones, repeat the same process on spam pages from the uncategorized pages.
FLESHING OUT ARTICLES is another good task for anyone - just visit the maintainence page, and pick something there like Short Articles or Orphaned Pages (pages which nothing links to). From there, you can work to integrate these pages into the rest of the wiki by linking to them from appropriate pages (ie, family members, packmates, plots, or packs themselves).
This is all, of course, in addition to adding full, current information on all of your characters!
